Attendance, Vacation, & Time-Off

Welcome to Juiced IO Inc. Staff! Please read the following documentation to understand all of the Attendance, Vacation, and Time-Off Policies of our staff.

It’s important to get time off and rest after a hard day, week, month, quarter, or year of work. Regardless of when you need a break, we are here to help ensure our staff are looked after and can get the rest they need when they want.

Different Types of Time-Off

There are many different ways of taking time off. From paid leave to weekends, to sick leave, Juiced IO INC covers a wide range of scenarios for our team.

  1. Annual Leave: Every employee has 14 days of paid leave per annum. If you intend to take paid leave, ensure your higher-up is made aware at least 2 weeks in advance. We advise all staff to use this paid leave wisely and encourage vacations to be taken at this time.

  2. Weekends: If you have gotten your tasks and minimum required hours done, you don’t have to ask for permission to take the weekend off, you can do it. Just make sure you do not leave important responsibilities unattended.

  3. Voluntary Dock Days: If you’d like to take a day off without it being a weekend or paid leave, you can opt to take a payment dock from your next payment. Try your best to make your higher-up aware that you’re intending to take a dock day 24 hours before doing so.

  4. Sick Leave: Every employee has 7 days of sick leave per annum. If you become sick, please provide a note from your doctor to your higher-up. Sick leave is to be used strictly for a physical illness that impairs your ability to do work, misusing sick leave will result in termination of employment without notice.

  5. Holidays: Due to the global nature of our company, we have staff from all over the world. Each employee is entitled to different holidays based on their country of residence, as well as religious beliefs. Please see the table below that describes which holidays you may be entitled to.

It should be noted that people who exploit religious festivities to get more time off will be terminated immediately. It is expected that you do not use one of the religious holidays as a day off unless you have in previous years celebrated that holiday or you have a serious intention to be celebrating that specific holiday.

  1. Parental Leave: You may be granted a maximum of one year of unpaid parental leave of absence to care for a newborn or recently adopted child. The request for parental leave must be made in writing. If you are on parental leave, you must notify Juiced IO INC within seven months after the start of the leave whether you intend to return to employment.

  2. Maternity Leave: Upon request, you shall be entitled to unpaid maternity leave of absence for a period of up to 16 weeks commencing within 13 weeks prior to the estimated due date and no later than the actual date of the birth of the child.

  3. Paternity Leave: If your spouse gives birth, you’re entitled to an unpaid paternity leave of a maximum period of 2 weeks for the birth of your child. This leave must be taken not sooner than the week of the delivery and must end not later than 8 weeks after the child’s birth.

  4. Mental Health Days: There are no set days or weeks for mental health. It’s something that if you really need it, we can arrange paid days off. As long as the reason for needing time off can be explained and the amount of days needed is reasonable, we will do our best to make it happen. It should be noted that it's up to our sole discretion to decide if a mental health day is within reason.

How and When to Request Time-Off

Ensure your manager is made aware in accordance with the times set out above. If you aren't sure who your manager is, you can speak to an executive or the CEO directly to make the request.

It’s important to remember that although we do offer an incredibly generous time off policy, this should obviously not be exploited but less obviously should only be used when appropriate. An example of using our time off policy appropriately is for example getting all your work done, and then taking a day off for Diwali to celebrate festivities with your family. An example of our time off policy inappropriately would be not having your work done for the prior week, then taking a week off for sick leave even though you aren't really sick, and just lounging around.

If we find people are exploiting our time off policy, not only will we terminate bad actors, but, we may also take away pay and take legal action.

If there is anything about this policy that needs clarification or if you have a general question, please contact your direct superior or Ben (@JuicedBen) through Discord.
